Is it just us, or can you hear it too? The city of Scandi streetstyle, Danish design and iced lattes is calling! Whether you’re planning a Copenhagen city trip or stopping by as a quick urban pit stop on your Scandinavian road trip – our trendwatchers curated their favourite Copenhagen hotspots just for you. Curious? Find our best inspo on where to eat, shop and unwind below!
Where to shop
Scandinavian interior lovers rejoice! Copenhagen is the number one destination to explore Danish design at its finest. Our best tips? In the city’s charming city centre, explore quintessential design powerhouses like all-round concept store Tadaima or – our personal favourite – curated interior boutique Stilleben No. 22. Hungry for some Scandi fashion? Head to lot #29 to quench your luxury designer cravings.
On the other side of town, the bustling Jægersborggade is the city’s latest it-street. Despite its humble beginnings, it is now home to over 40 art galleries, vintage shops, jewellery designers and ceramics ateliers, as well as wine bars, coffee shops and restaurants. A popular hangout for locals and visitors alike!
Where to get coffee
Copenhagen runs on coffee – so what better way to start your day than with some of the best brews in town? For those in favour of a strong morning coffee with some sweet, sweet goodness on the side, we recommend heading to Hart Bageri for the best coffee and pastries. A bit wild at heart? Check out Wild Horses for ‘good coffee, good snacks and good vibes’ – their words, not ours.
Hidden in the trending Meatpacking District, you’ll find our current favourite caffeine fix: the tiny and authentic Prolog Coffee Shop. Some say it’s the best coffee in town, and who are we to disagree? Serve your best Scandi streetstyle looks while sipping on flat whites and filter brews on the sidewalk – and you’ll blend in with the locals in no time.
Where to eat
When in Denmark, smørrebrød is an absolute must-try. Stop by Selma for a creative contemporary twist on the timeless Danish classic. For more traditional cuisine with a twist, consider heading to Barr for waterfront dinner, or stop by Jatak for local, seasonal dishes that honour the country’s cultural heritage.
If you’re into something more casual, we love picking up takeaway pizza at SURT and enjoying it al fresco in one of the city’s many parks.
In your veggie era? Atelier September serves the best seasonal vegetarian dishes for breakfast, lunch – or a quick snack. The perfect pitstop throughout the day!
Where to unwind
Copenhagen is big on outdoor space. Our top tip: leave the travel guide hotspots behind and explore some of the many parks the city has to offer. Head to King’s Garden, where you’ll find a cute little café in the Hercules Pavilion, or join the locals at after-work hotspot Fredriksberg Garden for scenic views over the water, idyllic picnic spots – or a quick stop at the city zoo!
Looking for something more active to clear your mind? Go for a run along the water or join a Pilates group class at studios like Studio 41. Good for mind, body, and soul!
Whichever type of break you’re looking for, we’re sure you’ll find your fix in Copenhagen. One of the most liveable cities in the world, the Danish capital serves stylish and fun, casual and cool – 24/7. The perfect Marie Jo getaway!
